Whoosh!
2025 is almost over!
I don’t know if I’m the only one who feels like I just shouted “Happy New Year” a few months ago.
Just like that, I’ll be shouting another one in less than two days.
2025, like every other year before it, will soon spiral down the time lane into the past. The experiences, both good and bad, will travel that same path. All that happened this year will be shelved in the library of our memories.
However, for God’s children, there is an assurance we have in Romans 8:28 (KJV):“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”
When we reminisce about how 2025 went, countless thoughts and memories flood our minds. There are experiences we relished and wished would never end, and others we detested deeply because of how they wrenched our hearts.
No matter the state of our hearts, let us not forget that 2025 was about God working out His purpose on earth through us. Whether our experiences were pleasant or painful, remember—it was never about us in the first place. It has always been about God.
This is why we must adopt a heart posture of sincere gratitude towards Him .
When I reflect on my life and certain experiences I had this year, the Holy Spirit never fail to remind me that God is working in and through me. He painted our( christians) experiences as tools God used to shape us to fit into His grand purpose.
No matter how we felt, what mattered most was the fulfillment of God’s will.
Imagine a sculptor working on a piece of stone. The sculpture he envisioned is only revealed when the work is complete. During the sculpting process, he uses different instruments for different purposes. Sometimes, he needs a hammer and a chisel to knock off tough terrain; other times, he uses tooth chisels and files for fine-tuning and polishing. Each tool impacts the raw material differently, yet all play significant roles in achieving the sculptor’s final goal.
Some experiences resemble the impact of God’s hammer and chisel—undoubtedly the ones that shattered our hearts and overworked our lacrimal glands.
Others, likened to the usage of God’s heavenly files for polishing and fine tuning, felt pleasant—those seasons when life flowed smoothly with no hurdle in sight.
No matter how we felt, what mattered most was the fulfillment of God’s will. It doesn’t matter the hullabaloo of emotions involved or men’s judgement of “good” or “bad”, as long as God’s will was done, it was good.
If it is about God, It is Good.
However the year went, as long as you are known by Him, let your heart always be directed towards Him because he sits at the center of everything.
Again, 2025 wasn’t about you, It was about God through you.If God gave you anything, it was because it pleased Him to do so and not for you to take pride in it. If He has not given it yet, that too is according to His good will for you. If you lost something and felt betrayed , remember—He knows how to turn betrayal into victory, just as He did on the cross after He was betrayed.
Sometimes our refusal to comply with God’s will because of how short sighted or unwilling we were, earned us unwarranted scars this year. However, God in his love for us, still knows how to work it for his Good in our lives by turning those scars into his version of stars.
If things were good, thank God!
If you think they weren’t, still thank God!
Just don’t lose your Faith in God.
Choose to see God’s workings in your life, and if you find it difficult to see, ask Him to grant you divine sight to see.
2025 wasn’t about you, It was about God through you.
In less than 30hrs, 2026 will begin.
If 2025 wasn’t about us, neither will 2026 be.
It will always be about God working in and with us.So in all our plans, the most important plan we should make is to give God full allowance to do what He desires in 2026 by our choice to walk with him more closely than we did in 2025.
2026 will be good for us if we make it about God in our lives.
Happy New year in Advance my dear readers!
God bless you.
