We are approaching a period which the world has tagged “ a season of love”. It is the season where people deliberately set aside time to celebrate loved ones in cash and kind.

These loved ones are those who appreciate the essence of our being. Their actions reveal how happy and grateful they are to have us around them. Consider your family , friends and spouses; Their gratefulness make you yearn to be a source of blessing to them.

God loves the praises of His people at all times. However, most of His people love to praise when there’s fair weather.

The importance of gratitude cannot be downplayed. As humans, we naturally do more for those who appreciate us more. We also find joy in their company because they value who we are and what we offer.

If we, as God’s creatures, cherish gratitude and reward it, how much more does God, our Creator?

The essence of thanksgiving to God cannot be overemphasized. For us, His children, it is the key to an unending stream of His blessings into our lives.

Being grateful to God for everything, even when we don’t understand everything, is a measure of faith that arrests God’s attention and move mountains. Anyone who waits to have it all figured out before praising God will live in frustration.

A grateful heart not only attracts God’s attention, it also detracts worry and sorrow.

In the midst of challenges, when praise rises from a broken yet grateful heart, the results are awesome miracles.

Consider the experience of Paul and Silas, it is evident that extraordinary wonders happen when God is praised, especially in unpleasant situations.

God loves the praises of His people at all times. However, most of His people love to praise when there’s fair weather. After receiving what they need from Him, they return only with more requests, with little or no time to offer praise. They have all the time to present their needs but not their gratitude.

It is high time we decided to cultivate a habit of praising God at all times. I know it’s not a new concept however repetition is for emphasis. The enemy knows how to make us trivialize matters as cogent as praising God. They know it’s the key for joyful living and that if we make it a habit to always use the key, they’ll always remain defeated.

A grateful heart silences complaints and murmurings, which otherwise can hinder God’s blessings.

A grateful heart is a happy and peaceful heart, overshadowed by the calmness of God’s presence. And in His presence, there is fullness of joy.

A grateful heart is a grace-filled heart. Through thanksgiving, we abound in God’s grace. If your life as God’s child lacks this grace, you must learn to praise Him more deeply.

Gratitude offered to God from a sincere and pure heart is very precious in His sight. Therefore our hearts must remain pure in all our thanksgiving.

We maintain a grateful heart by choosing to focus on what God has done, is doing, and will do for us—rather than dwelling on the problems around us. It is tempting to fix our eyes on the mishaps we see at the moment, but we must choose to always see with the eyes of faith.

We are a few days into the new year; What are you grateful to God for? You don’t have to wait till the end of the year to do that.

Gratitude to God and to loved ones around you lubricates the engine of life. It keeps you efficient and makes life worth living.

God bless you!
